Coming up: January-February 2023

Upcoming presentations

The Legal Genealogist is getting back into the swing of things here in 2023, and as always the year is getting off to a fast start.

And, as before, I want to invite you to come along, to the extent possible, on the trip…

Here’s an overview of what’s coming up in January, and we’ll go ahead and take a peek at February.

Monday-Friday, 23-27 January: It’s the first of the 2023 Institute weeks, as the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy gets underway virtually. I’m coordinating one of my favorite courses, Corpus Juris: Advanced Legal Concepts for Genealogy , and teaching in courses on Bridging the Gap: New England to the Midwest, 1780–1850; African American Genealogy Methods and Strategies; Advanced Genealogical Methods; and Evidence-Based Writing for Genealogists.

Starting Friday, 24 February, through Sunday, 26 February: The New Jersey Family History Institute is holding a virtual conference with an amazing team of great presenters focusing on research both within and beyond the Garden State. I’m honored to be included, presenting both Where There Is–Or Isn’t–A Will (Friday, 1:30 p.m. EST) and Who, What, Why, When, Where, How of American Divorce (Sunday, 4:45 p.m.). For more information, see the home page; there’s a link to register in the upper right corner.

Come on out and join us, if you can, for one or more of these events and note, in some cases, that registration will be free or at a reduced cost to members of the host society — and some are limited to members only… There are some reaaaaaaally good reasons for joining genealogical societies… Just sayin’…
